Sail Training Association of Sweden, abbreviated STAS is a local organization to the international parent organization Sail Training International (STI).

The association was founded in 1998 and is tasked with, among other things disseminate information on opportunities for young people to sail aboard the Swedish sailing ship, organizing participation in The Tall Ships Races (TSR) for Swedish vessels and coordinate requests from Swedish cities wishing to host port during TSR.

In addition, extensive work on maritime issues and mediation between our Swedish sailing ship owners and relevant authorities. Within the framework of international cooperation in STI worked for common regulations and training.
